Abstract

This research aimed to know the prevalence and the classification of parasites in dairy cows through fecal examination in KUD Argopuro, Krucil District, Probolinggo Regency. This research started on March until July 2020. The samples used in this research were 100 samples of faces. Fecal examination for parasite identifications ware using native methods, sedimentation methods and floatation methods. From the identification methods, some helminthic parasite were identified, such as Fasciola sp., Oesophagustomum sp., Gaigeria pachyscelis, Toxocara vitulorum, Mecistocirrus digitatus, Chabertia sp., Schistosoma sp., and the protozoa recorded Balantidium coli. The analysis result showed the prevalence of parasite was 56% consists of 19% helminthic infection and 37% protozoa infection. More eggs per gram (TCPGT) showed that the infection rate were 22 samples, mid infection rate were 2 samples, and 1 sample high infection rate.
