Abstract

Quercetin is one of flavonoid compound of Annona muricata Linn plant. This plant is potential to develop to be herbal product. In this research, the syrup sample was made by mixing of Annona muricata L leaf extract with sucrose solution. Determination of quercetin concentration in sample is necessary to assure that quercetin concentration is in the range of specification. The aim of this study was to obtain a valid thin layer chromatographydensitometry for determination quercetin in Annona muricata Linn syrup. The method validation parameters that were determined included selectivity, liniearity, precision, and accuracy. A mixture of toluen:ethyl acetate:formic acid (4:3:0,4) was chosen as mobile phase. The result of this study were as follow. Quercetin maximum wavelength was 265 nm. Liniearity test obtained from regresion function was y = 9032x + 113,5 with coefficient correlation (r) and Vxo were 0,9977 and 0,76 %, respectively. The accuracy of determined quercetin in extract was (91,26 ± 8,79) % and precision 1,36 %, respectively. Detection limit (LOD) and quantitation limit (LOQ) were 0,0284 μg and 0,0945 μg, respectively. Quercetin concentration in syrup was (27,75 ± 0,596) mg/10 ml.
