Abstract

The determination of Rifampicin and Isoniazid in tablet formulation is important to ensure the quality, efectivity and the safety of Rifampicin and Isoniazid combine tablet products. The purpose of this research to give the valid method to determine Rifampicin and Isoniazid assay in tablet product in the market. A simple, specific, accurate, precise method has been developed and validated for the three point method of Rifampicin and Isoniazid in tablets by UV Spectrophotometric method. Three point method of Rifampicin using wavelength in 314 nm, 334 nm, and 354 nm. Meanwhile, three point method of Isoniazid using wavelength in 246 nm, 266 nm, and 282 nm. Rifampicin and Isoniazid follow Beer’s law over the concentration range of 5-40 μg/ml and 5 -25 μg/ml. The percentage recoveries of Rifampicin and Isoniazid were found to be nearly 100 % representing the accuracy of the proposed methods. Validation of the proposed methods was carried out for its accuracy, precision, specificity, and linierity according to USP XXX
