Abstract
This research was aimed to know the effect of addition crude protein from Limousin’s seminal plasma in skim milk-yolk extender on viability and necrosis of Boer goat’s spermatozoa after equilibration. This Limousin’s seminal plasma collected from BBIB, Singosari. Processed in LSIH, Brawijaya University. The semen of Boer goat collect from Teaching Farm, Gresik. There are 3 treatments in viability and necrosis. Treatment 0 (P0) consist of Boer goat sperm + skim milkyolk extender, Treatment 1 (P1) consist of Boer goat sperm + skim milk-yolk extender + crude protein 0,1 ml and Treatment 2 (P2) consist of Boer goat sperm + skim milk-yolk extender + crude protein 0,2 ml. Data analyses using Analysis of Variant (ANOVA) one way followed with Duncan to determine significant differences between treatments. The result of this research showed addition crude proteins from Limousin’s seminal plasma in skim milk-yolk extender are effective to increase viability with P0 43.53% ± 15.34; P1 51.13% ± 15.34 and P2 54.13% ± 15.34 and also decrease necrosis in Boer goat’s spermatozoa with P0 0.53% ± 0.81; P1 0.83% ± 0.81; and P2 4.33% ± 0.81. There were significant different of spermatozoa necrosis but not with the viability. And the conclusion of the research that the crude protein could improve spermatozoa viability and decrease the necrosis.
