Abstract

Mina paddy system is a business combination between rice and fish cultivation in the same rice field. In this mina paddy farming ecosystem, there is complementary interaction between components so that the balance of ecosystem can be maintained. This thesis presents an interaction mathematical model in mina paddy farming ecosystem using the Holling Type II response function. This model has four components, namely rice biomass, weed biomass, inorganic fertilizer content, and herbivore biomass. From this model analysis, six existing equilibrium points are obtained, there are extinction equilibrium point of rice and weed, extinction equilibrium point of weed and inorganic fertilizer content, extinction equilibrium point of inorganic fertilizer content and herbivore which are asymptotically stable with certain conditions, as well as extinction equilibrium point of rice, extinction equilibrium point of herbivore, and coexistence equilibrium point which are asymptotically stable. Numerical simulation results show that length of the time required by herbivore to handle weed has an impact to the amount of rice biomass, weed biomass, inorganic fertilizer content, and herbivore biomass.
