Abstract

Gourami Fish (Osphronemus gouramy Lac.) is Ole of the species of freshwater fish that many chosen to be nurtured by cultivatc.rs. Naturally, the growth of Gourami is relatively slow, it is one of the mail problems in the evelopment of Gourami fish cultivation and suspecced as the din.'ct consequence of the low rate in somatic growth. The purpose of Field Work Fra,~(ice (PKL) is to determine the management of feeding on gourami Tlsh (Osphrw'omus gouramy Lac.) hatchery controlled, in terms from the content of the feed ii1aterial, how to feed every day, type of feed, and the amount of feed given. Therefore it can be generating the optimal growth of gourami fish hacthery The Field Work Practice was held at Implementing Unit of Technical Center of Fry Fish Area Pare, Kediri regency on 12 January - 20 February, 2015. The methods used in the Field Work Practice is descriptive method by Collecting data covering primary and secondary data. The data is collected by active participation, observation, interview and literature study. Gourami fish (Osphronemus gouramy Lac.) cultivation at Implementing Unit of Technical Center of Fry Fish Area Pare is busines<; owned by Fisheries Agency in the province of East Java. The source of water used in the entire farming activities come from Harinjing rivers and groundwater that supply water to the pond flows throughout the year. Water quality parameters obtained most optimal for the growth of Gourami seed is 29-30 0e, pH 6,5-7 °c and DO 7,5-7,8 mg.L-1 • The feed of Gourami seed began to be given after 8-10 day-old larval or after the yolk out. The feed is an natural feed such as silk wonns (Tub!fex tub(fex) at a dose of 2% from body weight or more or less for Tubifex tubifex worms that contain the 2000-3000 seeds. The type of feed given is adjusted to the larval mouth openings. The feed on Gourami seeds that have been 12 days to 2 months old are given artificial feed in the form of pellets with different sizes according to the Gourami's mouth openings. Pests that attack the Gourami seed are, frogs, snakes, lizards and some other kinds of birds, whereas the disease that attacks the Gourami seeds are fish lice caused by parasites Lemaea sp., and the presence of fimgi on dead eggs. Gourami seed bought directly by cultivators at Implementing Unit of Technical Center of Fry Fish Area Pare.
