Abstract

Motivasi siswa memanfaatkan perpustakaan saat ini masih kurang maksimal. Pendorong siswa memanfaatkan perpustakaan, yaitu melalui adanya kebutuhan – kebutuhan yang mendasari. Penelitian ini membahas tentang motivasi siswa memanfaatkan perpustakaan di YPAB Surabaya yang dilatarbelakangi dengan adanya kebutuhan akan prestasi, kebutuhan akan kekuasaan dan kebutuhan akan interaksi. Teori yang digunakan oleh peneliti yaitu teori motivasi dari David Mc.Clelland, dimana motivasi dilatarbelakangi dengan adanya tiga jenis kebutuhan yaitu kebutuhan akan prestasi, kebutuhan akan kekuasaan dan kebutuhan akan interaksi. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan sampling jenuh yang dilakukan pada 34 siswa dari jenjang SDLB hingga SMALB. Metode yang digunakan yaitu metode kuantitatif deskriptif. Berdasarkan penelitian, motivasi siswa memanfaatkan perpustakaan di YPAB Surabaya ini melalui adanya kebutuhan akan interaksi, kebutuhan akan kekuasaan dan kebutuhan akan prestasi. Pada hasil penelitian ini terlihat kebutuhan akan interaksi lebih dominan untuk mendorong siswa memanfaatkan perpustakaan dari pada kebutuhan akan prestasi dan kebutuhan akan kekuasaan. Kebutuhan akan interaksi termasuk pada kategori sedang dengan skor 4,48. Setelah itu kebutuhan akan prestasi berada pada kategori sedang dengan skor sebesar 4,34. dan kebutuhan akan kekuasaan berada pada urutan terakhir dengan kategori sedang dengan skor sebesar 4,28. This study discusses the motivation of students using the library in YPAB Surabaya are motivated by the need for achievement, need for power and need for affiliation. The theories used in this research is the theory of the motivation from David Mc.Clelland, where motivation is based on a three types of needs: need for achievement, need for power and need for affiliation. The sampling technique using saturated sampling conducted on 34 students from the level SDLB to SMALB. The method used is descriptive quantitative method. Based on research, the motivation of students using the library at YPAB of Surabaya through the need for affiliation, need for power and need for achievement. In the results of this study highlight need for affiliation is more dominant to encourage students to take advantage of the library of need for achievement and need for power. The need for affiliation included in the category with a score of 4.48 . After that need for achievement in middle category with a score of 4.34. and need for power to be in the final sequence with the medium category with a score of 4.28.
