Abstract

Development of children is increasing in wich children’s ability. The development of children is influenced by several factors one of which stimulations by parent. There are 24 parents of 47 parents with children aged 1-5 years who have not given stimulation as found in the KIA book at integrated service center. There are two children in integrated service center who suspicious had development disorder. The purpose of this study was to study the relationship between stimulations are given by parent with development of children (1-5 years) in integrated service center Bakti Pertiwi RT02 RW07 Kupang Krajan Surabaya. The research method used is analytical observational cross-sectional approach. Population is taken as many as 47 pairs of parents and children in integrated service center. Samples taken as many as 43 pairs of parents and children with stratified random sampling technique sampling. Independent variabel in this study is the stimulation by parents, the depent variabel is development in children (1-5 years). The instrument are questionnares and observation sheet development KPSP. The research were analyzed using chi square test. The results showed that 86,05% of parents giving good stimulation and 13,95% of parents giving lack stimulation. Development of children within the compatible category 74,42%, 11,62% in suspected delay development and 13,95% in possibility development disorder. The results of stastical test with chi square 2x2 with exact fisher test correction (α=5%, df=1) calculated exact fisher test value (p) of 0,000 is obtained. P is less than α (0,000<0,05), this means H0 rejected and H1 accepted. There is a relationship between stimulations are given by parents with development of children in integrated service center Bakti Pertiwi RT02 RW07 Kupang Krajan Surabaya. Strength of the relationship between two variabels seen from the value of contingency coeffisient is 0,60 which means the power relationship is strong.
