Abstract

Until now in dentistry, the majority of acrylic resin materials are widely used as a removable denture base. Materi als commonly used for denture base is heat-cured types are processed by way of curing waterbath. In use, artificial teeth may experience pressure suddenly, like fa lling on a hard surface or object being bitten hard by accident. Endurance of a materi al of this kind of pressure is called the power of impact (Noort, 1994). In treatment, denture cleaning can be done in two ways, namely by means of mechanical or ultrasonic toothbrush and chemical means by soaking in denture cleaning solution. One of the alternative ma terials that can be used as a denture soaking solution of propolis. In this final project will be studied in clinical effectiveness of propolis as a solution of denture cleanser on the im pact strength of acrylic denture base, because the power is very in fluential impact strength while at the time of resin denture cleaning might fall. The purpose of this study to determine the influence of soaking time of heat cured acrylic plates in a solution of propolis against impact forcers.
