Abstract

Rhipicephalus sanguineus is a three-host tick which is vector of various diseases including Thelerosis, Anaplasmosis, and Babesiosis. This research is carry out to determine the development stage effects of Rhipicephalus sanguineus larva into nymph on rabbits immunized with whole protein larva and adults. There were 10-months-old of three rabbits with the average weight of three kilograms. The first rabbit immunized with whole protein of larva, the second rabbit immunized with whole protein of adult and the third rabbit was not immunized. Rhipicephalus sanguineus larvas were invested on the rabbit’s earlobe to find out differences between the three rabbits. The results of this research showed some differences. P0 and P1 showed that p = 0.00, so p < 0.05, means that the result was significantly different. P0 and P2 showed that p = 0.02, so p < 0.05, means that the result was significantly different. P1 and P2 that showed p = 0.23, so p > 0.05, means that the result was not significantly different. It’s seen from the statistics that there was a noticeable difference between not immunized rabbit and immunized rabbit with whole protein of larva and adult. On the contrary, there was no difference between rabbit that was immunized with whole protein of larva and rabbit that was immunized with whole protein of adult.
