Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine prevalence, infection rate and type of worm that infects the digestive tract of dairy cattle at District taman of Sidoarjo. Random sampling used to collect sample in 50 % of total farmers coonducted at Ngelom and Kletek villages of Sidoarjo that selected purposively. Examinations were conducted in laboratory of parasitology faculty of veterinary medicine Airlangga University in May to June. Methods of research carried out by using floating and sedimentation method. The result of floating and sedimentation method tested positive on microscopic examination and appears the worm eggs. The results of microscopic examination by buoyancy method and sedimentation method getting prevalence of helminthiasis by 29.2 % and the type is at most bunostomum spp with 50 % of percentage. To determining the level of infection, McMaster method used to calculate worm eggs in gram of feces. Result of calculation worm eggs per gram feces amounted 158.57 ± 82.728.
