Abstract

This research was aimed to know motility percentage of Friesian Holstein spermatozoa after thawing in three different extenders with water incubator examination. This research has used the Friesian Holstein fresh semen that collected with artificial vagina then divided into three different groups of treatment, egg yolk skim (P1), egg yolk tris (P2) and commercial extender AndroMed® (P3). These three groups of semen then were processed for frozen semen. Examination of the quality of semen was carried out after thawing and incubated in water incubator for 37oC. The data were analyzed with ANAVA (Analysis of Variant) followed by T test. The result showed that there was no significant difference between three treatments (p>0.05). In conclusion, the three extenders have fulfilled as a standart of extenders for frozen semen that already stated by the Directorate General of Livestock Service.
