Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the prevalence and infection rate of gastrointestinal nematode on calf of Limousin and Simmental Crossbreed in the Loceret District, Nganjuk. The research was conducted in March-April 2013 with 60 faecal samples, and were analyzed the samples at The Department of Parasitology Veterinary, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Universitas Airlangga. From examination was found some of worm eggs, which are: Oesophagustomum spp., Gaigeria pachyscelis. and Toxocara vitulorum. The results showed that the prevalence of gastrointestinal nematodosis were 16,67 % in the Limousin Crossbreed and 6,67 % in the Simmental Crossbreed, with the relatively low degree of infection rate. The prevalence of male and female is significant differences in Limousin Crossbreed (p<0.05) and no significant differences in Simmental Crossbreed (p<0.05).
