Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the anthelmintics effect of bitter melon fruit infusion against Ascaridia galli worm in vitro. In this research, using 240 samples of A. galli with length 7-11cm without differentiating their sex. The concentration of bitter melon fruit infusion for immersing the Ascaridia galli were 10%, 20%, and 40%. Negative control was used NaCl physiologic and aquadest. Postitif control was used piperazine citrate 10mg/ml. Observation death A. galli worm and analysis of the data at the 6 hour, 12 hour, 18 hour, and 24 hour using ANOVA test, Duncan Range Test, and Probit analysis. ANOVA results showed significant differences between treatments (p<0,05). Duncan Range Test results showed bitter melon fruit infusion 40% had anthelmintics effects at the 18 hour which comparable with Piperazine citrate 10mg/ml. Probit analysis showed that the longer immersing time A. galli worm in bitter melon fruit infusion, LC50 that was needed also getting smaller.
