Abstract

An experiment to know the effect of progesterone in inject to weight increasing and cholesterol content of male fat-tailed sheep blood. The Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisted of four treatments and five replicates were used in this experiment. The four treatments were P0, P1, P2, and P3, every treatment has progesterone dose 0 mg, 1,25 mg, 2,5 mg, 3,75 mg. Each replicates consisted of five individual male fat-tailed sheep 5-6 month grown up and weight 14-20 kg. Each treatments has been inject 2 ml B complex vitamin before progesterone injecting every five days. Observation of sheep weight have done before injecting the treatments. Five days after the last injection of treatments have took the blood sample to test cholesterol content of male fat-tailed sheep. The result of the experiment showed that the weight increasing (kg) PO (2,28), P1 (4,48), P2 (3,06), P3 (3,70) and cholesterol rate (mg/dl) PO (229,9), P1 (153), P3 (232). In conclusion, different of progesterone not significantly (P>0,05) effect to weight increasing, but it significant different (P<0,05) effect to cholesterol content of male fat-tailed sheep blood.
