Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the effect of treatment usingVCO (Virgin Coconut Oil) by product and herbal drink waste on the carcass weightand abdominal fat in broiler. 40 broilers were divided into groups of four, P0, P1,P2, and P3. Each group has 10 repetitions. P0 was given treatment withoutany mixture (control), P1 was given treatment with 12,5% mixture of VCO byproduct and herbal drink waste, P2 was given 25% mixture of VCO by product andherbal drink waste, P3 was given 50% mixture of VCO by product and herbaldrink waste. Treatment started from when the chickens were 21 day old untilthe chickens were 35 day old. Feed was given twice a day with100 gram/chicken/time. The obtained data was analyzed using CompleteRandomized Design by looking for the analysis of variance (ANOVA) and continued with5% Honestly Significant Design ( HSD ) test. The result showed that there isa significant effect in the treatment using mixture of VCO by product and herbal drink waste on the percentage of carcass weight and abdominal fat in broilers.P3 showed the best result for increase in car cass weight and reduction in abdominal fat in broilers compared with P1, P2 andP0.
