Abstract

The aim of this study was to investigate the prevalence of tapeworm in a laying chickens farm from Gedang Sewu village, Pare district, Kediri sub province. This study suggested to give an information for effort to eliminate the tapeworm in laying chickens especially for commercial laying chickens farm. Fourty laying chickens strain Isa Brown from different ages were selected randomly. The experimental used fecal sample from laying chickens with the age of 45 weeks and 75 weeks old. Inspection of sample was done in the Intestinal Parasite Laboratory, Institute of Tropical Disease, Airlangga University. The result showed that tapeworm (Raillietina sp) prevalence at chickens farm X and Y from Gedang Sewu village, Pare district, Kediri sub province was 57% and by using Chi Square test showed significantly difference (p<0.05) between tapeworm prevalence (Raillietina sp) at chickens farm X and Y from Gedang Sewu village, Pare district, Kediri sub province.
