Abstract

Tuberculosis is one of the main health problems in the world. Indonesia is the third nation which has great numbers of tuberculosis sufferers in the world. The reason that increases the problems of tuberculosis issues is TB-HIV co-infection incidence. The tuberculosis incidence and prevalence increase are related to the increasing number of HIV/AIDS sufferers which caused by exposure of HIV infection risk factors. This research is a cross sectional study. The number of the sampel is 42 tuberculosis patients who choosen by simple random sampling method. Data collected by interview with questionnaire. TB-HIV co-infection risks was analyzed by ratio prevalence calculation. The result of the research showed the prevalence of TB-HIV co-infection in respondents with TB positive at BP4/Karang Tembok hospital in Surabaya was 16,67%. The risk of TB-HIV co-infection was higher to the respondents who exposed by sexual risk factor of sexual intercourse with high risk partner (CSW) (RP=25,50; 95% CI: 3,55 From the research it can be concluded that TB patients who has ever been doing sexual intercourse with commercial sex worker has 25,50 times greater risks to experience TB-HIV co-infection and TB patients who has ever been doing anal intercourse has 5,83 times greater risks to experience TB-HIV co-infection.
