Abstract

Premarital sex behaviour of adolescents increased every year in Indonesia. Premarital sex behaviour of adolescents is caused by internal and external factors. Some adolescents got unwanted pregnancy from various socio-economic background. This research aims to analyze correlation between parents’s sosioeconomic status and parenting with premarital sex behaviour of adolescents in Senior High School 1 Ngadirojo Kabupaten Pacitan. This research was observational with cross-sectional design. The sample of this research were 80 students in the tenth and eleventh class of Senior High School 1 Ngadirojo Kabupaten Pacitan. The sampling technique used in this research was simple random sampling. The independent variables of this research were father’s education, mother’s education, father’s occupation, mother’s occupation, parent’s salary, closeness with family and parenting type. Statistical analysis used in this research were Fisher’s exact test and Chi-Square test, with significance level α=0,05. The result showed that there weren’t significant correlation between father’s education was p=0,087, mother’s education was p=0,528, father’s occupation was p=0,127, mother’s occupation was p=0,461, parent’s salary was p=0,773, closeness with family was p=0,206, parenting type was p=0,376 with premarital sex behaviour of adolescents. In conclusion, there weren’t significant correlation between parent’s sosioeconomic status and parenting with premarital sex behaviour of adolescents in Senior High School 1 Ngadirojo Kabupaten Pacitan. For adolescents are expected to increase their knowledge about sexual education and reproductive health.
