Abstract

Berdasarkan data status gizi tahun 2010 menunjukkan kejadian unik di Puskesmas Mlilir dan Puskesmas Saradan, prevalensi underweight di Puskesmas Mlilir lebih rendah dibandingkan Puskesmas Saradan namun prevalensi stunting di Puskesmas Mlilir lebih tinggi dibandingkan Puskesmas Saradan. Stunting adalah suatu keadaan dimana berdasarkan indeks TB/U balita mengalami masalah gizi (pendek) dengan z-score di bawah -2 SD, balita mengalami pertumbuhan yang terlambat dari tinggi badan. Berbagai faktor yang menyebabkan stunting, diantaranya tingkat konsumsi, pola konsumsi dan penghasilan. Penelitian dilaksanakan dengan rancangan cross sectional. Sampel penelitian ini adalah balita underweight umur 6-60 bulan beserta pengasuh (ibu atau selain ibu) di Puskesmas Mlilir dan Puskesmas Saradan. Subyek diambil dari populasi dengan cara stratified random sampling. Status gizi balita diketahui melalui antropometri. Uji statistik yang digunakan adalah uji Mann whitney, Chi square, dan Fisher (α = 0,1). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar balita di Puskesmas Mlilir (70,0 %) dan Puskesmas Saradan (54,0 %) mengalami stunting. Tidak ada perbedaan status gizi (TB/U) di Puskesmas Mlilir dan Puskesmas Saradan (p = 0,239), stunting di Puskesmas Mlilir tetap tinggi dan stunting di Puskesmas Saradan menjadi bertambah. Tidak ada perbedaan signifikan tingkat konsumsi energi (p = 0,347), protein (p = 0,816), vitamin A (p = 0,504), dan seng (p = 0,439) di kedua puskesmas, namun terdapat perbedaan signifikan pada frekuensi makan daging (p = 0,017), frekuensi makan unggas/ayam (p = 0,049), frekuensi makan hati/jerohan (p = 0,063) dan frekuensi minum susu (p = 0,01) di kedua puskesmas. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah tidak ada perbedaan antara status gizi (TB/U) di Puskesmas Saradan dan Puskesmas Mlilir. Upaya yang disarankan dalam penelitian ini adalah dengan meningkatkan pengetahuan pengasuh tentang gizi yang berperan penting dalam pertumbuhan linier dan memperbaiki pola pengasuhan makanan agar asupan zat gizi untuk pertumbuhan terpenuhi. Stunting is condition in which based on the height/age index, toddler suffers malnutrition problems with z-score below -2 SD, toddler has a late growth of heights. Various factors that cause stunting include the level of consumption, consumption patterns and income. The research was conducted by cross sectional design. The samples were underweight toddlers aged 6-60 months and their caregiver (mother or someone else) in Mlilir PHC and Saradan PHC. The subject was taken from population by stratified random sampling. Toddlers’s nutritional status was identified by anthropometry. The statistical test used Mann Whitney test, Chi square, and Fisher (α = 0.1). The results showed that most toddlers in Mlilir PHC (70.0%) and Saradan PHC (54.0%) experienced stunting. There was no difference in nutritional status (height/age) in Mlilir PHC and Saradan PHC (p = 0.239), stunting in Mlilir PHC remained high and stunting in Saradan PHC increased. There were no significant differences in energy consumption levels (p = 0.347), protein (p = 0.816), vitamin A (p = 0.504), and zinc (p = 0.439) in both PHC, but there were significant differences in frequency of eating meat (p = 0.017), eating poultry (p = 0.049), eating liver (p = 0.063) and drinking milk (p = 0.01) in both PHC. The research’s conclusion showed there was no difference of nutritional status (height/age) in Saradan PHC and Mlilir PHC. Efforts suggested in this research is improving caregiver’s knowledge about nutrition which has important role in linear growth and revising food pattern nurture of nutrient intake to fulfill growth nutrients
