Abstract
Makna sosok pemimpin kerap didiskusikan dan dikontestasikan. Perkembangan dari teknologi menunjukkan perubahan dalam cara pengkomunikasian makna seorang atau sosok pemimpin. Melalui film-film bergenre biopik, beberapa film muncul dengan ide-ide yang mengkomunikasikan makna sosok pemimpin. Sebagai sebuah medium visual, elemen-elemen di dalam film dapat digunakan untuk mengkonstruksi dan menjadi pengantar pesan tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat bagaimana sosok pemimpin direpresentasikan dalam sebuah film. Penelitian kualitatif ini dilakukan melalui analisa terhadap film dengan judul Jokowi; A Living Legend A True Inspirational Story. Subjek dari penelitian ini adalah representasi sosok pemimpin dalam film. Metode semiotika digunakan untuk menganalisa simbol-simbol dalam film yang mengandung tanda-tanda, pesan, dan makna dari sosok pemimpin. Secara spesifik, teori Mitos dari Roland Barthes digunakan bersamaan dengan beberapa konsep kunci seperti representasi, film sebagai medium komunikasi massa, dan identitas politik. Sebagai kesimpulan, film ini mengandung representasi sosok pemimpin di dalam karakter utama film yaitu Joko Widodo. Representasi ditunjukkan melalui pembagian karakteristik antara rakyat, pemimpin, dan Joko Widodo. Penulis juga mengamati penggunaan identitas politik sebagai representasi Joko Widodo sebagai pemimpin. Lebih jauh lagi, di dalam film ditemukan bentuk representasi Joko Widodo sebagai pemimpin yang transformatif
