Abstract
Penelitian ini membahas hubungan antara efisiensi perusahaan dan struktur modal perusahaan dengan menggunakan sampel perusahaan sub-sektor transportasi yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode non-parametrik analisis data envelopment (DEA) untuk mengukur batas dan mengukur efisiensi perusahaan. Dengan menggunakan ukuran ini saya memeriksa apakah perusahaan akan lebih efisien untuk memilih lebih atau sedikit penggunaan utang dalam struktur modal perusahaan. Ada dua teori yang mendukung efek efisiensi tetapi kedua teori ini bertentangan satu sama lain atau memiliki efek kontra terhadap struktur modal. Teorinya adalah efficiency risk hypothesis dan franchise value hypothesis. Teknik analisis menggunakan uji asumsi klasik dan regresi linier untuk menguji pengaruh efisiensi terhadap struktur modal perusahaan untuk membuktikan apakah sebuah teori yang mendukung pengaruh efisiensi terhadap struktur modal yang benar secara empiris dan ingin mencari hubungan langsung efisiensi dan struktur modal.
