Abstract

Background: Aloe vera can not only reduce inflammation caused by tooth extraction trauma due to its hormone activity of wound healing, but can also be considered as biogenic stimulator of bovine graft that can accelerate bone growth. Purpose: This study is to elucidate the mechanism of TLR2 as signaling pathway of the combination of Aloe vera and xenograft concelous bovine given in tooth extraction sockets to prevent inflammatory process, alveol bone resorption, and osteoblast activity stimulation mechanism in new alveol bone formation. Methods: The combination of Aloe vera and xenograft concelous bovine was given in tooth extraction sockets of Cavia cabaya. The examination of the expressions of TLR2 as signaling pathway, TNF- and osteoclast cells as alveol bone resorption markers, as well as FGF2, OPG, collagen-1 and osteocalcin as osteoblast activity markers was conducted by using immunohistochemistry. Results: There was not only the increasing of the expressions of TLR2 as signaling pathway, FGF2, OPG, osteocalcin, and collagen 1 as osteoblast cell formation markers, but also the decreasing of that of TNF and osteoclast cells as alveol bone resoption markers. Conclusion: The combination of Aloe vera and XCB at tooth extraction sockets can not only enhance TLR2 as signaling pathway, FGF2, OPG, osteocalcin and collagen 1 as osteoblast cell formation markers, but can also decrease TNF and osteoclast cells, thus, it then can decrease inflammation and alveol bone resoption
