Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat hubungan kausalitas antara financial development dan foreign direct investment (FDI) menggunakan data panel pada 4 negara ASEAN periode 1999- 2014. Alat analisis yang digunakan untuk mengetahui hubungan kausalitas pada penelitian ini adalah uji kausalitas granger. Penelitian ini menggunakan proxy domestic credit to private sector provide by banks, market capitalization, dan stocks trade turnover ratio sebagai proxy dari financial development. Hasil studi empiris menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan kausalitas satu arah antara foreign direct investment dan domestic credit to private sector provide by banks yaitu domestic credit to private sector provide by banks mempengaruhi foreign direct investment. Hubungan kausalitas satu arah juga terjadi antara foreign direct investment dan market capitalization yaitu market capitalization mempengaruhi foreign direct investment. Selain itu, tidak ditemukan adanya hubungan kausalitas antara foreign direct investment dan stocks trade turnover ratio pada hasil studi empiris.
