Abstract

This research study about a network of women's groups as a potential social capital in order to disaster risk management in the village of Kemiri District Panti Jember. The role of community involvement is one way the application of the concept of Community Based Disaster Risk Management (CBDRM). Data collection techniques using in-depth interview techniques results that there are many women's groups that play a role in public life Kemiri village institutions, including the muslimat mingguan, muslimat tiga bulanan, arisan, Dama (Dasa Wisma) and the PKK. Women's groups in the village of Kemiri, more of the community and a society that is more limited to geographical boundaries, community and gender lines (bonding social capital). So the lack of access to government structurally, except for the PKK, which has structural access. Therefore, these accesses is bridged by the PKK, as well as cooperation with other groups outside the region, so the existence of other groups may be bridging social capital. The existence of these other groups that help women's groups in villages to get access to the Kemiri structural areas, be it government, NGOs or access to capital as a linking social capital.
