Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat kemungkinan terbentuknya Area Mata Uang Optimal (Optimum Currency Area) di kawasan ASEAN-5 (Indonesia, Malaysia, Filipina, Singapura, Thailand). Dalam penelitian ini negara-negara dianggap sebagai kandidat yang berpotensi membentuk OCA apabila negaranegara tersebut memiliki kesamaan dalam merespon guncangan struktural. Penelitian ini mengidentifikasi empat guncangan dalam perekonomian ASEAN-5 dengan menggunakan model SVAR dan dekomposisi Blanchard dan Quah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ASEAN-5 memiliki kesamaan dalam merespon guncangan struktural dan merupakan kandidat yang baik untuk membentuk OCA.
