Abstract
This research describes a prokem language used by waria (transsexual) in Surabaya city, East Java, that is, a nOnstandard language the waria uses in their very secret communieation. In addition the language of this group is used to show their competn~e in creating speoifio words. As a subculture in the urban society of Surabaya,the waria possesses the secret language where in the research is called ~aIl (ocoant). ~.aa is similar to a slang but is int.en tionally made to secret something to other groups and called secret dlle to be visitle, from its fUllction.
