Abstract
These research concerning tile Indonesian coffee export from November 1996 until July 1998 in the term of pre and during the economic crisis. As the many people speak out that the crisis is widely affect many sector of tile Indonesian economies and blew up the triumph of more than thirty years of development over one single moment, coffee, regarding its role as the one of the agricultural commodities, is burdened to heal the national economics collapse since the transformation of economic structure had turned back.
The research then, pointing out the role of many variable in determining the volume of coffee export pre-crisis and It's change In the term during crisis, since the hypothesis that have built up sees the changing pattern of 'pre-crisis coffee ~"p>Jlt' in one hand and 'during crisis coffe export' in the other one. To dete!!I';"" the significance of the crisis itself, the second hypotl1esis have made up and convince that 'crisis factor' plays Its own main role during those changing time.
The result then, the first hypothesis that believed of 'coffee export changing pattern' during the time of research, is rejected, but the second hypothesis shows that crisis itself as a variable is true significant. The other variables that have tested and Is broadly significant in determining coffee export volume are Persediaan (Coffee Stocks), Harga Ekspor Kopi (Coffee Export Price). Harga Dalam Negeri (Coffee Current Price), Yen Jepang (Japanese Ven Exchange Rate) and Mark Jerman ( Germany Mark ExChange Rate). The main conclusion tllat could be appointed Is though the crisis factor do affect the cofffee export, it do not playa main role on the market structure, since the 'changing pattern hypothesis' can not be accepted, or in the other word, the crisis only had psychological effect in the market of Indonesian coffee export
