Abstract

Caring behaviour while conducting holistic nursing care in nursing education is important as this is the first place for students to learn about the most significant values and essence of their profession. Motivation and clinical learning conference method is one factor driving prior to the occurrence of the caring behaviour. This study was aimed to determine the correlation between clinical learning method conference with motivation and caring behaviour of nursing students in clinical practice. This research was used correlation design with cross sectional approach. The population was nursing student class 2012. Total sample was 25 respondents, taken by simple random sampling. The independent variable was the clinical learning method conference. The dependent variable were the motivation and caring behavior. Datas were collected by using questionnaires and observation. Analysis of data using Spearman rho tests and Pearson with significance level of p <0.05. Results showed that there were a positive and strong enough between clinical learning method conference with motivation (p=0.020, r=0.462), motivation with caring behavior (p=0.030 and r=0.434) while clinical learning method conference with caring behavior was negatif (p=0,062). In conclusion, there is a relationship between clinical learning conference method with the motivation and the relationship between motivation and caring behavior of students. Future research are expected to be able to examine other factors that could affect the motivation and caring behavior in students.
