Abstract

DETERMINATION OF IMIDACLOPRID PESTICIDE REIDUE IN GREEN TEA LEAVE (Camellia sinensis) USING HPLC METHODE Mia Saraswati Tea plants severed often disruption attacks from plant pest organisms. Imidacloprid is a systemic insecticide used widely in controlling mites, mealy bugs and other related pests in fruits, vegetables and tea leaves. Imidacloprid pesticide use as chemicals to control insects or pests on agricultural products, especially tea can leave a residue that can harm human health. In this study, the tea leaves are sprayed with Imidacloprid 125mL in 200L water / ha, then picked on intial day 0 (15 min after application), 1st, 2nd, 4th, 8th, and 10th. Analysis in tea matrices of imidacloprid was carried out using high-performance liquid chromatography Lichosper column 100 RP-18 (4x250 mm) with diode array detection, with a mobile phase acetonitrile: water = 60:40 (v / v), flow rate 0.75 ml / min, a wavelength of 270.0 nm. Imidacloprid levels in green tea leaves taken from Lawang Wonosari tea plantation on the 8th day was 0.3486 ± 0.0356% b/b of the dry weight. On the basis of the concept of pesticide degradation, a waiting period of 8 days after pesticide application at a recommended dose for tea plucking is suggested.
