Abstract

One of Thornton Wider's qualities as his significance in The Bridge ofSan Lu;s Rey is his capability to bring up such important paradox about the discrepancy between faith and fact. Brother Juniper, the main character, is a mar who believes that everything in the world has been wisely proportioned. His belief becomes a conflict in his mind while it is confronted to the facts that too much good and virtuous people get suffered in their lifes, All in the world seems a big mistake. IfGod is All-good, why the pains are inserted towards the life ofthe innocent people?
