Abstract
This study aims to discuss an issue raised in the movie Django Unchained directed by Quentin Tarantino. It is a movie which portrays black people’s characteristics in colonisation era. This study focuses on the main character figure who suffers from psychopathology. This study attempts to uncover the issues based on the question, “How is black’s psychopathology experienced by Stephen as depicted in the movie?” This study analyses the strategy done by Stephen in order to get acceptance from white people. In order to analyse the issue and answer the statement of the problem, this study uses postcolonial theory proposed by Frantz Fanon. This study finds that the depiction of psychopathology experienced by Stephen is through language using and lifestyle. This study also reveals that the motivation of Stephen`s psychopathology is to gain power in order to change his life to become equal with white people
