Abstract

The purpose of this study is to know the type, potential and level of helmint eggs from cats feces that the environment contamination in some public places in Surabaya. 180 cats feces are collected from some places between canteens, markets, villages, schools and parks from five areas in Surabaya. Feces of the cats examined with native, sedimentation and float techniques and count eggs per gram feces. The results showed that the potential of environmental contamination by helmint eggs from cats in some public places in Surabaya amounted to 37.8% or 68 positive samples from 180 samples observed. The result of chi square analysis showed that The result of chi square analysis obtained p > 0,05 showed eggs helminth from cats feces have environment contaminated canteen, markets, vilages, schools and parks at Surabaya. Environmental contamination caused by egg Ancylostoma sp., eggs Toxocara cati and eggs Toxacaris leonina. And result of ANOVA amount of enviromental contamination of 200 eggs / gram of feces.
