Abstract

Improvement of maternal and child health a priority health development in Indonesia. The improvement is directed to the physical and psychological health. Psychological problems among primiparas postpartum maternal postpartum depression incidence which is one of the factors that contribute to maternal health indirectly. Postpartum depression (PPD) or postnatal depression is a major psychiatric disorder that occurs in women after 4 weeks postpartum. The purpose of this study was to determine the incidence of postpartum depression determinant factor in the Dr R Soedjono Selong Hospital, East Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. This study was an observational study using cross sectional design where researchers only take as much data as one. Data retrieval is done by providing two questionnaires. EPDS (Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale), which contains 10 questions with each different value on each question and a questionnaire to assess the characteristics of the respondent. Results showed the prevalence of postpartum depression in Dr R Soedjono Selong Hospital as much as 39.5%. Based on the multiple linear regression statistical test of family support has a significant impact on the incidence of postpartum depression with a P value of 0.000 (<0.05), suggesting that the higher the support of family, the smaller the risk for postpartum depression and conversely the lower the family support the higher the risk of postpartum depression in the mother.
