Abstract
This research was aimed to determine of L-arginin adding effect on motility and
viability Merino sheep sperm in post thawing examination in skim milk-egg yolk
extender. This research used fresh samples of Merino sheep semen collected by using
artificial vagina, then divided into 4 treatments. The control treatment (P0), Merino
sheep semen with skim milk-egg yolk extender without L-arginin adding, The
treatment groups (P1, P2, and P3), Merino sheep semen with skim milk-egg yolk
extender + L-arginin 0.003 M, 0.005 M and 0.007 M, respectively. Data analyses
using Analysis of Variant (ANOVA) One Way followed with Duncan to determine
significant differences between treatments. Result showed that 0.005 M L-arginin in
skim milk-egg yolk extender is the best consentration to increase motility and
viability Merino sheep semen post thawing in this research.
