Abstract

Premature aging skin condition characterized by dry, scaly, rough and accompanied by the appearance of wrinkles and drak spots or blemishes has become to be a women fearing thing, especially among women in reproductive age. Factors causing premature aging are internal factors(health, stamina, stress and hormonal changes) and external factors (free radicals, sunlight and pollutans). Free radicals can be prevented by antioxidant compunds either synthetic or natural materials. Tomato is one of the natural antioxidants. it is easily degraded by light and free radical in air. NLC is a system that can provide protection of active ingredient because of its frug entrapment ability and physical protective from UV light due to its nano-sized. The aim of this study is for investigated the ability of NLC that could increase stability of antioxidant potency from tomato extract. Antioxidant activity is measured by DPPH method. As a result is was found that NLC, made by High Shear Homogenization method has higher stability of antioxidant potency compared with SLN and conventional cream that show with k value as constants of antioxidant potency degradation between time (Sigma 2-taild < 0,005)
