Abstract

Background : Maternal Depression is a feeling disruption with some sign, such as loss of interest, happiness, and energy. This would form a risk factor of poor nurturing. Mother of children with ADHD were often troublesome in social interaction, unable to work optimally, even losing job because they have to take care of their children. Taking care of children with ADHD may cause negative effect to the family, where parent often confused on dealing with children, who were often argue, fight with friend, or worse, the environment would put the blame on mother. Purpose : This research is to know the influence of the severity of ADHD with maternal depression who were treated in Psychiatrist Departement‟s Daycare facility at RSUD Dr. Soetomo Surabaya Methods : 30 ADHD subject mother in Daycare RSUD Dr. Soetomo would fill IOWA Conner’s Rating Scale and Beck Depression Inventory . Then the result would be analyzed with linear regression. Results : This research found the influence of the severity of ADHD with maternal depression. The severity of ADHD could increasing maternal depression Conclusion : Taking care of maternal depression risk is important and helpful in Daycare RSUD Dr. Soetomo Surabaya.
