Abstract

Introduction : Psoriasis is a genetic, systemic, inflammatory, chronic disorder, which can be altered by environmental factors. The major manifestation of psoriasis is chronic inflammation of the skin. Characterized by disfiguring, scaling, and erythematous plaques. The purpose of this research is to determine the profile of patients with psoriasis and it’s characteristic features such as patient’s age, patient’s gender, risk factors, clinical features, treatment, laboratory tests, and comorbidities. Methods : This study has analyzed with a descriptive method using data from medical records of psoriasis patients treated at Dermato-venerology Clinic at RSUD Dr. Soetomo Surabaya during the periods of January – December 2016. Results : The results of this study, 58 patients had psoriasis in 2016. 50 patient had psoriasis vulgaris and 8 patients had psoriasis gutata. The distribution of patient gender is almost equal, 53% in male and 47% in female. The main age group was 35 - 45 years old (22%), lesion was located almost at every region of the body (19%), and 17% patient had BMI>25. 17% patient had consumed NSAID and β-blocker, 43% had infections, and 9% had psychological stress before the exacerbation. 34% of patient had biopsy test. Desoximetasone 0.025% was the main topical treatment (60%), cetirizine 10mg was the main systemic treatment (33%), and urea cream 10% was the main complimentary treatment (26%). Hypertension was the main comorbidities (18%).
