Abstract
Introduction: The level of male participation in family planning choosing vasectomy in East Lampung region Pekalongan health centers is still low, although the success rate of Vasectomy as family planning is very high . This study aims to explain the factors related to the choice Vasectomy in men of reproductive age in the Pekalongan health centre East Lampung. Methods: This study used an analytical study design, with a cross-sectional design, sampling technique purposive sampling with a total sample of 117 people. The independent variables were the factors related to the choice KB Vasectomy (knowledge, attitudes, parity, age, availability of health resources and infrastructure health, health education, attitude and behavior of health care workers and family support), the dependent variable is the participation of Vasectomy as family planning. Retrieving data using questionnaires. Statistical test using Chi-Square test. Results: Factors that influence the choosing Vasectomy as family planning is an attitude (0,020), parity (0.022), age (0,021), the availability of health resources and health infrastructure (0.018), and family support (0.011). While the knowledge factor (0.652), health education (0.133) and the attitudes and behavior of health workers (0.133) did not affect the choosing Vasectomy as family planning. Discussion: Public Health Centre is expected to form a family planning services of Vasectomy, such as provision of facilities Vasectomy can reach the community, and the establishment of an active cadre of male birth control.
