Abstract

Background: Police are on duty to protect and protect citizens, if police hearing is disrupted during school and due to shooting practice, police duty will be disrupted Purpose: Proves there is a difference in student's hearing threshold values before and after the shooting practice.. Method: Research using pre and post design with population of 100 Diktub’s students School Police State (SPN) East Java Polda force 2016 who underwent shooting practice in September 2016 - December 2016 Result: Obtained the intensity generated from the firearm eruption averaging 120 dB. Of 100 students, 12 ear (12%) had acoustic trauma with 3 ear (3%) acoustic trauma on the right ear, 5 ear (5%) acoustic trauma on the left ear, and 4 ears (4%) experienced acoustic trauma both ears. After shooting the degree of minor hearing loss on the right ear there were 18 students (18%) and on the left ear 21 students (21%). The average hearing threshold value before the practice of shooting the right ear is 12.50 dB - 27.50 dB and the left ear is 11.25 dB - 30.00 dB whereas after the practice of shooting the right ear 11.25 dB - 35.00 dB and on the left ear11 , 50 dB - 35.00 dB. Different test with paired sample T test got value p = 0,00
