Abstract

Introduction : Urolithiasis is the third disease in the field of urology after urinary tract infections and benign prostate hyperplasia. Urolithiasis is suspected to have something to do with urinary flow disorders, metabolic disorders, urinary tract infections, dehydration, and other conditions that remain unresolved. In Surabaya, especially in Urology Department of Dr. Soetomo General Hospital, there has been no description of the incidence of urinary tract disease in 2015. Purpose : To evaluate the incidence of urolithiasis in Urology Department of Dr. Soetomo General Hospital from January 2015 – December 2015. Method : This is a descriptive retrospective study and was performed by evaluating medical record of urolithiasis patients. The variables observed were demographic data (sex, age and domicile) and clinical data (major complaints, comorbid disease, complications and location of stones). Results : There were 119 research subjects for one year. From 119 samples, gender distribution was male as 82 patients (68.9%) and women as many as 37 patients (31.1%). Most age groups were 51-60 years old, 38 patients (31.9%), and age 41-50 were 33 patients (27.7%), and 31-40 were 18 patients (15.1%). Most of the domicile were patients from Surabaya as many as 47 patients (39.5%), from Madura as many as 25 patients and from East Java besides Surabaya and Madura as many as 39 patients. Most complained of colic pain were as many as 87 patients (73.1%). Most comorbid diseases were chronic kidney disease and hypertension each have 13 patients (10.9%), but 58 patients (48.7%) did not have comorbid disease. Most had hydronephrosis complications of 58 patients (48.7%). While the location of urolithiasis most is in the kidney as many as 93 locations of stones (65%). Conclusion : Urolithiasis in Urology Department of Dr. Soetomo General Hospital from January 2015 – December 2015 mostly found in male gender, age group 30-60, originated from Surabaya. The most common complaints are colic pain, most comorbid diseases are hypertension and chronic kidney disease, most complications are hydronephrosis and the location of most stones is in the kidney.
