Abstract

Background: Hepatotoxicity is one of the most dangerous side effect of chemotherapy. Chemotherapy drugs such as cisplatin, carboplatin, and paclitaxel can affect hepatocyte and disrupt the synthetical function of liver. Objective: To analyze difference of liver functions test in cervical cancer patients. Methods: This study was designed in cross-sectional. Albumin serum, AST, and ALT was taken as variables of the research. The drugs are classified into five groups: cisplatin; carboplatin; cisplatin and paclitaxel; paclitaxel and carboplatin; cisplatin, paclitaxel, and carboplatin. Results: The amount of patients givent cisplatin as chemotherapy regiments is 29 patients (58%). Followed by fifth group which is the combination of cisplatin, paclitaxel, and carboplatin with 15 patients (30%), fourth group which consists of paclitaxel and carboplatin by 4 patients (8%). The rest group prevalenses are 2% (1 patient each). The mean of albumin serum is decreased after chemotherapy, meanwhile the AST and ALT are increased after chemotherapy. Therefore, the difference between albumin serum, AST, ALT before and after chemotherapy in each groups are not significant since the pvalues are more than 0,05, except albumin serum in carboplatin. Meanwhile the result of one way Anova test shows that there is not any significant difference between each group since the pvalue is over 0,05. Conclusion: There is weak difference in albumin serum, AST, ALT before and after chemotherapy in this study.
