Abstract

Introduction:Puskesmas Menur has a visits number by pregnant women less than 80%. Pregnant women who donot access pregnancy services during the pregnancy process can have a health impact on mothers and babies. The lack of visits number is influenced by several factors, one of them is the participation of the husband to support the couple in accessing the pregnancy service.Method:This study used cross sectional design. The population in this study is the husband who has a pregnant wife by accessing the service in the Maternal and Child Health Unit Puskemas Menur. The samples were 104 respondents taken using total sampling technique. The variables in this study were attitude, subjective norm, perceived behavioral control, intention and participative behavior. Data were collected using questionnaire and analyzed by Spearman rho test with α<0,050.Result: The results showed a significant relationship between attitude, perceived behavioral control, and participatory action with p value of each0.000; 0.001; and 0.041 and there was no significant relationship between intention and subjective norm with p value 0,904. Attitude and perceived behavioral control can affect the intention which can show in the participative behavior of husband but subjective norm does not affect husband intention. The intention is then shown in the form of husband's participation behavior in the partner services of Maternal and Child Healthservice (pregnancy and delivery). Discussion: Because of the central role of husbands in the accessibility of partner pregnancy and delivery service, the role of husbands and health workers is needed to improve understanding of the husband role when his wife is pregnant. Further research needs to consider the mobility of undetermined respondents and the validity of the questionnaire.
