Abstract

Introduction: The patient of Diabetes Mellitus tipe 2 surely follow the suggestions from heath – officer when the patient at hospital. However, when the patients at their home and doing their daily life, the patients will be back to their uncontrolled life style, it can make their disease getting worst higher glucose scale in blood and complications would be happen (Saifunurmazah 2013). The result of this study. Was 40 patients of DM tipe 2 went back to doing retreatment because of uncontrolled of treatment. Methods: design for this study was quay experimental with pre test and post test group design. Population in this study was the patient of DM tipe 2 who stayed in Puskesmas Trosobo Sidoarjo work area. The sample of this study was 36 respondent with simple random sampling technics. This study used wilcoxon sign rank test and Mann Withney U Test Statistic with signification α ≤0,05. Result: The result of Wilcoxon Sign Rank Test showed that the effect of education based on Theory of Planned Behavior effected to increase knowledge on treatment group (p=0,000), the obedience of diet (p=0,003), the obedience of physical activity (p=0,001), the obedience of farmacology (p=0,002), glucose scale (p=0,000). The result of Mann Whitney U showed enhancement of knowledge (p=0,000), the obedience of diet (p=0,005), the obedience of physical activity (p=0,000), the obedience of farmacology (p=0,002), glucose scale (p=0,492). Discussion: The education based on theory of planned behavior effected to management DM type 2, for the next research hopefully can use more respondent and check all of the variable in Theory of Planned Behavior.
