Abstract

Introduction : At this era, adolescents has experienced growth and development that caused signs of secondary sex and entered in the fertile period. Students were classified in the late adolescence age 18-25 years until the early adulthood. Based on related research which conducted on students who are dating at Airlangga University in 2013, was founded 85.38% of students of Airlangga University have sex risk behavior from medium to high. This study aims to determine the relationship of premarital sexual knowledge to pre-marital sexual behavior trends in university students in Surabaya. Methode : This researchs was a quantitative research with observational analytic approach. The data used was 461 people covering students in exacta, humanities and literature major in their second and sixth semesters by using statified random sampling. Independent variable was premarital sexual knowledge of teenagers while the dependent variable was premarital sexual behavior. The collected data will be tested by Chi-square on significance level α = 0.05. Result: Result shows that students has knowledge level in high (18.65%), enough (61.61%) and low (19.74%), moderate pre-marital sex behavior in high risk (26.25%) and moderate risk (73.75%). After Chi-Square test, p = 0,001 (p≤0.05) shows there was relationship between knowledge of adolescent (student) with premarital sexual behavior tendency. Conclusion: Knowledge of premarital sexual behavior is important in preventing premarital sexual behavior. Keywords: Knowledge, Behaviour, Adolescent
