Abstract

INTRODUCTION: A whole life morbidities that Cerebral Palsy patients suffer from should be under a clinician’s concern. However, profile of Cerebral Palsy patients in Indonesia is still rarely found. OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study is to describe Cerebral Palsy patient’s characteristic, including their co-morbidities. METHODS: Descriptive retrospective study using medical records of Cerebral Palsy patient in Dr. Soetomo General Hospital Outpatient Installation for Child Neurology from January 2016 to June 2018. Data collected using data collecting sheet. RESULTS: Profile of Cerebral Palsy made with a sample of 50, which meets the criterion needed, from 107 data of Cerebral Palsy patients. This study found Cerebral Palsy between the age of 1 to 14, with domination of male sex (3:2), from Surabaya (56%), malnourished (24%), normal birth weight (80,9%), term age of birth (66,7%), spontaneous labor (60%), and also prenatal events as causes of Cerebral Palsy (69,5%). Pneumonia found to be most among postnatal events leading to Cerebral Palsy (30%). Spastic type has the bigger amount than non spastic (9:1) with quadriplegic as the dominating one (64%). Congenital malformation is rarely found (62%), but co-morbidities found in almost all sample (92%). Keyword : Profile; Cerebral Palsy; Neurology; Children; Indonesia; Surabaya
