Abstract
Objective: To identify the Communication Apprehension profile among students of Faculty of Pharmacy Universitas Airlangga candidative year 2014-2017. Methods: The population are students of Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Airlangga candidate year 2014-2017. The research are descriptive, crosssectional and non random total population starting from September 2017 until August 2018. The source of data is primer, which is respondents filling out validated and tested for reliability of Personal Report of Communication Apprehension, PRCA-24 in Bahasa Indonesia. Variable and its sub – variables are Communication Apprehension and Communication Apprehension in small groups, in meetings / discussions, individual and public. Results: 417 questionnaires (46.13%) from 904 questionnaires were use. 72 male students, 337 female students and 8 respondents did not specify their gender in the questionnaire. Average value for male is higher in Communication Apprehension in small groups and Communication Apprehension in public, compared to female. There is significant differences in interpersonal Communication Apprehension between 2017 and 2016. In this study, there was no significant difference in PRCA total score between the 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017. 15 respondents (3,59%) acquire low Communication Apprehension, 273 respondents (65,47%) associated with medium Communication Apprehension, and 129 respondents (30,94%) related to high Communication Apprehension. Conclusion: There are chances that students with medium and high Communication Apprehension can be treated with academic syllabus and activities.
