Abstract
The aim of this study was to detect antimicrobial resistance of Citrobacter freundii isolated from cloacal swab in broiler. Totally 30 samples taken from three market in Surabaya included Keputran, Pacar Keling, and Wonokromo. Isolation and identification of samples were done using selective media and biochemical tests. Antibiotic resistance was tested using the disc diffusion method against 10 µg meropenem, 30 µg cefotaxime, 30 µg tetracycline, 10 µg ampicillin, and 25 µg amoxycilin. The results showed that only one sample isolated from Keputran market was identified as Citrobacter freundii, and it showed resistance to tetracycline, while sensitif to four antibiotics.
