Abstract

The aim of this research was to determine the estradiol level of H5N1-infected ferrets compared to the estradiol level of normal ferrets. Avian Influenza virus could spread to entire organs, including Hypothalamus and Ovary. Nine female Mustela putorius furo were divided into three groups, each group included three Mustela putorius furo. The treatment groups consist of T0, which was the control group of this research, T1 which was only infected with human origin H5N1-subtype Avian Influenza virus, and the last group was T2 which was given vaccination and H5N1 infection. After all treatments, the blood sample of all ferrets were collected to be read by ELISA. The ELISA reading result will be analyzed using One Way ANOVA and Duncan’s Test. The research result showed significant difference (p<0.05) between T1 and the rest of the groups. Based on this research, H5N1-subtype Avian Influenza virus can decrease the estrogen level of female Mustela putorius furo
