Abstract
The aim of this study was to know the total testosterone levels and libido reaction of Holstein Friesian bull who experienced infertility at the Radju Bendul Merisi Surabaya farm. The research method used in this study was descriptive analysis and would be compared with the total testosterone levels and libido reaction of fertile Holstein Friesian bull. The numbers of samples were 2 Holstein Friesian bulls. The variables that was observed were total testosteron level, time erection, time ejaculation, front leg clamp power, and hind legs thrust. Libido reaction in this study was conducted with the aim to raise sexual behavior as a description of the performance of Holstein Friesian bull. Hormonal testosterone analysis was performed using competitive ELISA method. The results test of bull serum testosterone levels an average 26,77 ng/ml for Holstein Friesian infertil and fertile Holstein Friesian bull had an average of 23,39 ng/ml. The average testosterone levels of Holstein Friesian bulls in this study are good because they are still within the range of previous studies. The libido scale among Holstein Friesian infertil and fertile Holstein Friesian bull has the best performance, shown by a strong sex drive because at the time of sperm retrieval on both bulls it does not take a long time to mount the teaser. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the testosterone profile and libido levels of infertile Holstein Friesian and fertile Holstein Friesian bull can not be used to detect infertility that is owned by a male. Further research is also needed to determine the cause of infertility in Holstein Friesian bull at the Radju Bendul Merisi Surabaya farm.
